Abstract Goan Art

Having lived in Goa, a scenic paradise for most part of my life, I felt compelled to recreate through my artwork these dramatic landforms which lie strewn all across Goa along with the various seasons summer, monsoon, sunrise and sunsets ....even trying to capture the brilliant moonlight that light up the heavens on a full moon at night!

Goa is a state of contemporary elegance with a good mix of traditional design and modern sensibilities...Portuguese inspired architecture, pitched roofs, cool verandas, tranquil courtyards. The countryside filled with lush emerald rice plantations egrets, herds of cattle grazing, lazy winding rivers with beautiful mangroves, the bright saris of farm workers amongst the serene verdant paddy fields all serve as a great source of inspiration and I like to get this experience of Goa in all of its true colours out in my paintings. My Goan art is very popular with NRI Goans as it reminds them of the Goa of their childhoods...evoking a feeling of 'Saudade'.
